For those of us who don’t want another username and password to remember, the IRS has provided a solution.

At the beginning of 2013 the IRS rolled out its direct pay system in an effort to simplify the way a taxpayer can pay their taxes. Since its initial debut over 150,000 people have used it and enjoyed its five easy steps.

All you need to do is select what payment you are making, verify your identity, enter your payment information, verify everything looks correct, and electronically sign to confirm. While you do not need to create any login information you still have the ability to view your payment status, reschedule, and cancel any payments that haven’t been processed yet.

The IRS Direct Pay system adds another benefit in that none of your personal information is retained once the payment is made.
