If you are an Ohio business owner, you will want to take note. On Monday, September 28th, the Ohio Development Services Agency will open the application process for its Incumbent Workforce Training Voucher Program.  The vouchers are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until the available funds are committed.  dsa_logo

Any additional applicants will be accepted and placed on a waiting list in case additional funds are made available for this program. 
This program is meant to develop a stronger workforce in Ohio to meet the current and future demands of the changing economy.  

The program allows for a reimbursement of 50% of eligible training expenses.  There is a maximum reimbursement of $4,000 per employee and $100,000 for the business per year.  An eligible employer must operate as a for-profit entity, have a facility in Ohio that has been in continuous operation for the 12 months immediately prior to the application, and be a state-designated targeted industry.  Targeted industries are determined by NAICS code but include:
 
  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Aerospace and Aviation
  • Automotive
  • Back Office
  • BioHealth
  • Corporate Headquarters
  • Energy
  • Financial Services
  • Food Processing
  • Information Technology and Services
  • Logistics
  • Polymers and Chemicals
  • Research and Development
