Porsches and Whiskies

Porsches and Whiskies!  That’s a combination that would grab any man’s attentions and it was the theme of Zinner and Co.’s networking event this past Thursday.   The event was held in the immaculate showroom of the recently opened Porsche dealership on Chagrin Boulevard.

The event was for clients, associates and friends of Zinner and Co. and our joint host the Eisner Gohn Group.  The night informally kicked off and a few lucky guests took the opportunity to test drive a Porsche or two…before the whiskey tasting of course.   The rest of us enjoyed an up close and personal look at the cars in the showroom throughout the evening.

It was especially exciting to hear and see the engine of the Porsche Carrera GT as since May 2006, only 1,270 have been produced!

Porsches were just one feature of the occasion, the other – whiskey.  A certified sommelier was on duty.  If you are not familiar with that term, a sommelier is a French term for a person who has traditionally assisted restaurant patrons in choosing wine and food pairings.

In modern times, the term has come to represent a person who is very knowledgeable in food and spirit.  In layman’s terms, it’s someone who knows an awful lot about what’s behind the bar.  Six different whiskeys were showcased and the sommelier gave brief presentations and tastes to small groups.

We have had an overwhelming amount of positive feed back, and everyone is asking; when is the next event?  Thanks to everyone for attending and be on the look out for a similar occasion in the future.
