They say it takes a village to raise a child, but it takes a world class facility, a caringcommunity of dedicated physicians and nurses, and members of an engaged community to care for a sick child!

The staff at Zinner & Co was an active part of that community on Friday, December 9th.  They participated in the WDOK 102.1 Rainbow Radiothon, held in the Performance Area at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, as volunteers covering the phone banks.  They took calls from listeners interested in making a pledge to Children’s Miracle Network to benefit Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital.

In addition, many of our multi-talented staff members took up the challenge in baking holiday goodies and making beautiful Christmas candy for a bake sale that they held at the Radiothon location.

The baskets of chocolate covered cookies and pretzels and towering pillar of cupcakes, brownies and cookies were beautiful and those that purchased the culinary treats raved about them!

Proceeds from the bake sale event totaled $825, which Mary Ann Mezacapa and Colleen Kaminsky presented to the talent team from WDOK, including Trapper Jack, Terry Moir, Jim McIntyre and Joe Cronauer, in the last hour of the event.

The firm issued a challenge hour pledge during the lunch hour that challenged 25 listeners to call into the station, to become Miracle Makers by making a $20 per month reoccurring pledge for the upcoming year.  The community responded and Zinner made an additional contribution to Rainbow totaling $5,000.

Fundraising efforts for the event totaled $293,235!!!
