Volunteers from Cleveland and the surrounding areas gathered the morning of July 28th to help make Cleveland a better place during Rebuilding Day 2012. Zinner & Co., a member of the organization NAIOP, participated in volunteering for this community project. Everyone came prepared with their own gardening tools and gloves and was ready to get to work!

The weather was cool that Saturday morning which was perfect for working outside. The rainy afternoon didn’t stop the volunteers from finishing what they came to do – to help make Cleveland a cleaner and better place. We spent our day getting dirty by assisting with landscaping and painting for about 20 homes in the Heritage View Neighborhood of the Kinsman/Central area of Cleveland for homeowners who are unable to perform the work themselves, whether it is for health or economic reasons.

The organization, Rebuilding Together, has provided home rehabilitation services to homeowners in need for more than 30 years. There are approximately 200 local affiliates that complete 10,000 home repair and improvement projects each year, free of charge to homeowners. Rebuilding Together is always looking for volunteers who are skilled to assist in projects such as repairing plumbing, electrical, roofing, etc. General volunteers for other tasks such as landscaping and painting are just as important.
