Zinner & Co. Volunteers at Cleveland Food Bank Healthy Choice Market

by | 30 Jan | Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Zinner & Co., Zinner News

On Jan. 22, Zinner & Co. employees spent the afternoon volunteering at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s Community Resource Center Healthy Choice Market.

Our team was proud to support neighbors directly by helping make the shopping experience easier, more welcoming and more dignified.

We assisted throughout the market in hands-on roles that keep the operation moving and help families get what they need.

    • Stocking shelves
    • Loading baskets
    • Loading cars
    • Serving as personal shopping assistants

It was a great day for the whole group, including our new interns, who got to see firsthand what it looks like when a workplace culture is built around service.

Why this matters to Zinner & Co.

For Zinner & Co. Managing Partner Robin Baum, CPA, the volunteer work aligns with the firm’s mission statement.

“One of the tenets of Zinner & Co.’s Mission Statement is being committed to responding to the needs of our clients, staff and our community,” said Baum. “Spending the afternoon at the Cleveland Food Bank Healthy Market was a living testament to all those stakeholders. Our staff loves volunteering as a group at the Cleveland Food Bank.

“Clients. Culture. Community. It’s not about the work we do; it’s about the people we serve,” she added.

This is the heart of why we volunteer as a firm. The work is meaningful, but so is the shared experience of serving side-by-side.

The opportunity to serve the community was also a reminder for our employees of how fortunate they are to be in a position to help.

“It’s very fulfilling to recognize how lucky we all are in not having to worry about food insecurity, and it’s also a great time to get to know more of our neighbors in the Cleveland community,” Baum said. “We all come from different suburbs in Northeastern Ohio, but the City of Cleveland is truly the hub. Spending an afternoon working together in this environment is a gift.”

Zinner & Co. thanks the Cleveland Food Bank for providing the opportunity to help our fellow neighbors and give back to the community. We are grateful to the Cleveland Food Bank team for the opportunity to serve and for the work they do every day to support our neighbors.

We look forward to returning and continuing to invest our time and energy where it matters.
