Howard J. Kass, CPA, CGMA, AEP
Howard J. Kass has over 30 years experience and has cultivated particular expertise in individual and business income taxes, tax aspects of real estate investment, estate, gift and trust taxes and tax exempt organizations. Howard applies his extensive knowledge and experience to a diverse client base of individuals and companies including closely held businesses in a variety of industries and ownership structures such as C Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, and LLCs. Industries served include real estate, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, insurance agencies, distributors and service companies.
Howard is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Ohio Society of CPAs, the Estate Planning Council of Cleveland and the Society of Financial Service Professionals. Due to his professional experience, knowledge and reputation within the various disciplines of estate planning, in 2013 Howard received the Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®) designation from the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils. He serves on the boards of the Estate Planning Council of Cleveland, the Cleveland-Akron Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, and the BlueWater Chamber Orchestra and has served on the boards of the Real Estate Investors Association of Northern Ohio and the Cleveland Digital Publishing Users Group (CDPUG), having also served as President of CDPUG. He has also been listed in Who's Who in Creative Real Estate.
Howard has authored numerous articles on taxation that have appeared in a variety of publications and websites, including Properties Magazine, Commercial Investment Real Estate Magazine, Lifeline, the publication of the Celiac Support Association (formerly Celiac Sprue Association), and Celiac.com. Howard has spoken on numerous tax issues before such organizations as Lorman Education Services, National Business Institute, the Ohio Society of CPAs, the Society of Financial Service Professionals, the Financial Planning Association, the Cleveland Area Board of Realtors (CABOR) and the Cleveland Digital Publishing Users Group (CDPUG).
Howard has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Kent State University.
