The IRS announced that the Modernized e-File (MeF) will be unavailable for brief periods during July and August during scheduled system upgrades. The outages will occur as follows:
- July 18, 2019, 12:01a.m. EST - July 22, 2019, 12:01a.m.EST
- August 3, 2019, 12:01a.m. EST – August 5, 2019, 12:01a.m. EST
During these periods, MeF submissions should not be attempted. The IRS plans to issue a Quick Alert bulletin once MeF availability is restored.
