Blog & Newsroom

We recently sent an e-mail out around the office asking if there was interest in participating in a monthly book club, and the response was an enthusiastic yes! The Zinner Book Club was officially formed and we have 10 members so far all female. What? Real men don't read books? Or they just don't want to talk about them?

Our first meeting is Wednesday, May 19, 2010 and the book we will be discussing is "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" by Betty Smith. This book was first published in 1943 and has lately been rediscovered. It is back on book store shelves.

I read this modern American classic when I was 11 or 12 (I was 12 in 1947, you do the math) and enjoyed it then. So I re-read it 3 or 4 weeks ago to see if it is as good as I remembered it, and it is! However, I cannot take credit for selecting this book; Colleen Hall did and a good suggestion it was! I am looking forward to the discussion next Wednesday.
