Brown County Sale and Use Tax to Decrease

The sales and use tax rate for Brown County (08) will decrease from 7.25  percent to 7 percent, effective Oct. 1, 2025.

By law, Ohio’s counties and transit authorities may only enact sales tax rate changes effective at the start of any calendar quarter. The Department of Taxation posts information on its website as it becomes available.

In Q3, the sales and use tax rate for Lake County (43) increased from 7 percent to 7.25 percent on July 1.
