Firm also hires two additional employees

Zinner & Co. is proud to announce two employees were recently promoted into management roles, while the firm hired two additional employees to fill important roles.

A new year ushers in many changes for the Internal Revenue Service, but one massive problem will not go away – backlogs.

While the IRS still must deal with a backlog of mail and a backed-up phone system that leaves taxpayers and practitioners on hold and frequently drops the call, changes are in the works. Among them are a potential new commissioner (Danny Werfel was nominated for the role in November 2022) and an increased budget that will give the IRS billions of dollars to spend, although it has less than two months left to develop a spending plan.

On Dec. 29, the Internal Revenue Service issued the 2023 optional standard mileage rates used to calculate the deductible costs of operating an automobile for business, charitable, medical or moving purposes.

Cleveland Jewish News recently named Zinner & Co. Partner Susan Krantz, CPA, CGMA, one of 18 Difference Makers for 2022. 

Krantz joined Zinner & Co. in 1990 and was named a partner in 1999. She possesses over 30 years of experience in audit and assurance. 

Zinner & Co. is pleased to continue its support and sponsorship of the Magic of LightsTM, being held at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea, from Nov. 24 through Jan. 2, between the hours of 5:30 and 10 p.m.

A longtime member of the Zinner & Co. family will retire at the end of the year.

Patti Puterbaugh joined Zinner & Co. LLP in Oct. 2000 as the File Room Clerk. Since then, she has made a lasting impact on the firm.

Thanks to the efforts of all Ohioans, in April we have successfully “flattened the curve” and avoided overwhelming our hospitals with COVID-19 cases.

By practicing social distancing during this challenging time, you have helped to make a difference and save lives.

In late April, Gov. DeWine announced the Responsible Restart Ohio Program, which allowed healthcare institutions including hospitals, clinics, dental offices and veterinarians to begin outpatient procedures and treatments for other life threatening conditions on May 1.

Since April, Zinner & Co. staff members have held weekly Zoom meetings.
