describe the imageA huge congratulations to our friends at Cleveland Play House who have been selected to receive the Regional Theatre Tony Award during the 2015 Tony Awards® on June 7.

For an unprecedented 100 years, Cleveland Play House has worked tirelessly to enrich Cleveland with the finest in the performing arts. The local institution was chosen for this prestigious honor by the Tony Awards Administration Committee for its century of showcasing the best in contemporary playwriting and fresh, imaginative productions of classics.

“Cleveland Play House is an exemplary institution in the American theatrical landscape with its long history of successful seasons and its commitment to fostering the next generation of playwrights and actors,” said Heather Hitchens, President of the American Theatre Wing, and Charlotte St. Martin, Executive Director of The Broadway League, said in a statement. “We are thrilled to honor the Play House as it embarks on its centennial season.”

This is just the latest honor granted to Cleveland Play House, which has staged more than 1,600 productions for 12 million theatergoers throughout its storied history. Earlier this year, it was named one of the “10 Best Regional Theaters in the U.S.” by Fodor’s.
