Taxpayers looking to contribute to charities and non-profits no longer have to do extensive research or play the guessing game when it comes to tax deductions.
The Internal Revenue Service announced the launch of a new online lookup tool that will allow taxpayers to find out whether an organization is eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions or has had its tax exemption revoked. The Exempt Organizations Select Check replaces the online Auto-Revocation List, the online version of Publication 78, Cumulative List of Organizations Exempt From Tax and the e-Postcard database.
