Effective January 1, 2014, Ohio’s minimum wage will automatically increase from $7.85 to $7.95 per hour for non-tipped employees.
The minimum wage will also increase for tipped employees from at least $3.93 per hour to at least $3.98, plus tips.
These 2014 increases in the Ohio minimum wage apply only to businesses that have annual gross receipts of more than $292,000.
Under federal law, the minimum wage is $7.25 per hour for non-tipped employees and $2.13 per hour for tipped employees. The federal minimum wage rate has not changed since 2007.
